Principal’s Message

At Featherbrook P–9 College, we have proudly fostered an inclusive and welcoming school community since opening as a state government school in 2017. It is a privilege for our staff and me to partner with families and the broader community to deliver engaging and high-quality learning programs for every student.

Our college has built a strong and respected reputation, grounded in four key educational principles. We prioritise both academic excellence and student wellbeing, supported by a comprehensive Prep to Year 9 curriculum. Our commitment is unwavering: to meet each student at their point of need and support their individual learning journey.

Contemporary, Evidence-Based Learning
Our leadership team and dedicated educators work purposefully to provide optimal learning experiences for all students. Teaching at Featherbrook is personalised, contemporary, evidence-based, and responsive to student needs. Our broad and differentiated curriculum encourages creativity, resilience, and a growth mindset, while recognising and celebrating each student’s unique strengths, interests, and talents.
As a Public Private Partnership school working alongside Learning Communities Victoria (LCV), we are well positioned to implement the latest teaching practices and educational research. As a state school, we also benefit from access to extensive resources, expertise, and system-wide support, enabling our teachers to deliver exemplary programs.

Facilities
Our state-of-the-art facilities include a wide range of flexible learning spaces that support programs in physical education, music, food technology, visual arts, and performing arts. Our well-resourced library plays a central role in developing strong literacy skills and a love of reading.

We are also committed to environmental sustainability. Our “nude food” initiative encourages reusable containers and reduces waste, while our kitchen garden enhances learning across Food Technology, Environmental Science, and wellbeing programs through hands-on experiences such as composting and maintaining a worm farm.

Our Values
Respect, high expectations, safety, and collaboration underpin everything we do at Featherbrook College. These values are explicitly taught and embedded in our daily practice, shaping a culture of inclusion, responsibility, and academic success. They support all students to thrive both socially and academically.
I warmly welcome current and prospective families to join us in continuing to build a vibrant, inclusive, and highly regarded learning community.
