A number of our student leaders began their service to the school today when they joined Assistant Principal Ms Farriciello to prepare our garden beds for some winter vegetable planting. As part of this process, a large amount of soil will need to be delivered during the term break, so the students set about working out how many cubic metres would be required. We have some exceptional mathematicians in our student leader team and they collaboratively worked together to arrive at an amount which was accurate from Ms Farriciello’ s account. The kitchen garden will require a lot of care and ongoing work but the yield will be enjoyed hopefully through our food technology programs. The compost resulting will in turn be used to enrich our soil for the spring planting. The student leaders are keen to contribute and to get others involved too!
