Rain, sunshine, wind and more wind couldn't stop the highly anticipated Prep - 2 tabloid sports from going ahead as planned, yesterday. Whilst the weather kept our athletes, teachers and parents guessing throughout the day as to the conditions, it certainly didn't dampen the delight and excitement and real sporting attitude demonstrated by our Featherbrook students. Sprints, beanbag throwing to simulate shot put and running up to markers to jump as far as they could, the students practised the skills of long jump. A favourite for the day were the sack races and even the teachers got into the spirit of the day. It was fabulous to see so many of our parents join us and encourage all of the students as they gave of their very best. Participation is the key expectation for this type of occasion and our young students all joined in showing great support and encouragement of each other. The students ran, jumped and threw to gain points for their Houses : Geranium, Eucalyptus, Banksia and Acacia furthering the friendly rivalry between the Houses. Congratulations to all of our Prep - 2 students and a BIG thank you to Physical Education teacher James Butler who planned and coordinated the sports.
