Our Prep students braved the cold and threatening rainy weather today to venture out to the Werribee Open Range Zoo. Fortunately, the weather improved and the sun shone for most of the day. Chilly as it was, they noticed not....as the exhibits were so engaging. The young students were able to learn about the animals indigenous to Australia in the Habitat Heroes workshop; this was followed by a safari bus tour which was a highlight where the rhinos and giraffes were viewed up close. This wonderfully memorable experience has provided the Prep students with a rich range of new language that will build and broaden their vocabulary bank and enrich their knowledge of animals and their habitats. The other 4 home groups will enjoy the experience this coming Thursday, so they have much to look forward to!
