The ’lived’ experience supported a more enriched and deeper understanding of planning and executing the experiment allowing a more authentic opportunity to record and ‘write-up’ the procedure undertaken. The resultant writing was considerably more precise and structured. As an added bonus, the students had a lot of fun and clearly demonstrated our school values of being safe, being collaborative and showing high expectations.
