It was with great anticipation today that our Year 3 and 4 students left by bus to make their way to Newport Athletics Track. I have it on good authority that the students thoroughly enjoyed the bus ride and were looking forward to the bus ride back to school. However, the events were the highlight for all of our athletes and there was an event for everyone.
From the 100 metre sprint, to the discus, putting the shot, jumping a very high bar and running with perfect balance in the egg and spoon race, the students excelled and enthusiastically participated. They generously encouraged each other and congratulated the those who placed 1, 2nd, 3rd.
There was friendly House rivalry. The House colours looked amazing as the students competed. Students moved about the athletics venue in their Acacia/yellow, Banksia/blue, Geranium/red and Eucalyptus/green colours wearing them with pride.
Thank you to the teachers and support staff along with the PE team who ensured the day was a huge success. Congratulations to all students!
